Carberry hat-trick

Profile by Conall Collier

Paul Carberry recorded a treble at Newcastle yesterday as he deputised for the injured former Noel Meade jockey Denis O'Regan.

O'Regan is expected to be out of action for about three weeks after breaking his collarbone in a fall from Zaarito at Leopardstown

The aptly-named Stormy Weather (5/2) gave Carberry his first success and Door Boy (4/9) duly obliged for winner number two and 18/1 shot Blacks Bridge completed the tally.

There was sting in the tail for the Meath man who picked up a one-day whip ban on Stormy Weather.
