McCanny appointed at Killeen Castle
Killeen Castle has announced that Paul McCanny has been appointed Golf Professional at the club, he joins from Birr Golf Club and previously was at nearby Black Bush. McCanny, a native of Derry, turned professional in 2005 and completed his PGA training as the assistant-professional at Black Bush, just a few miles up the road in Dunshaughlin. "I was working in Black Bush during the construction and development of Killeen Castle and watched its transformation into a world class golf course," stated McCanny. "When the opportunity came about to work there I jumped at it. "I have joined at a very exciting time for Killeen Castle, the Ladies Irish Open attracted 28,000 spectators and the Solheim Cup in a few weeks time will bring in upwards of 80,000. "Golfers consistently want to play on our superb Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, we have sold 18,000 rounds of golf this year and our membership continues to grow," he added. The Solheim Cup will take place at Killeen Castle this month from 23rd - 25th September.
