Regan strikes late to rescue draw for Kiltale

Jack Regan's injury-time point maintained Kiltale's two-year unbeaten run in the SHC as his side snatched a 1-15 to 1-15 draw with Kildalkey in a thriller at Pairc Tailteann.

The early indictations were that Kildalkey would end Kiltale's streak as Gary Kelly's goal boosted them to a 1-9 to 0-7 interval lead.

However, after the break there were only four scores from play, the most crucial being Fearghal McCabe's goal in the 43rd minute which closed the gap to 1-10 to 1-11.

Another crucial moment came in the 39th minute when Shane McGann produced a wonder save from a Conneely penalty and moments later the Kiltale netminder produced another mesperising stop to deny Nicky Potterton.

The rest of the half was a shootout between the unerring Regan and his Kildalkey opposite number Paddy Conneely, with Regan claiming one of the other scores from play, a disputed point which was waved wide by the umpire before linesman Ciaran Flynn intervened and advised referee Richard Morris that the ball had gone over the bar.

That 60th minute score made it 1-14 to 1-15 and two minutes later Kiltale were handed a free following David Harmon's late foul on Ronan Ryan which Regan converted after Harmon was sent-off to ensure parity prevailed.
