Dazzling Gibney point sustains Moylagh

Eamonn Barry's Moylagh made a winning start to the JFC with a 1-12 to 1-11 win against Clann na nGael at Ballinlough last night from Darren Gibney's late point.

It all stated well for Clann na nGael who had a seven-point lead after 20 minutes , but a great save from Moylagh's goalkeeper Aengus Fanning prevented a certain goal that ended in a point and that seemed to kick-start last year's beaten finalists.

Darren Gibney and Jimmy Boyle started to get to grips in the backs, Colm Fanning and Joe Meila began to dominate midfield.
The excellent Tommy O'Reilly and Sean Reilly kicked five points between in the last seven minutes of the first-half to leave Moylagh trailing by 0-8 to 1-7 at the interval.
The second-half was a low-scoring affair with both sets of backs working extremely hard.
Substitute Eanna Brody gave Moylagh a one-point lead after a well worked goal with 10 minutes remaining, but Clann na nGael never gave up the fight and with time almost up hit two late points to level.

Moylagh to their credit worked extremely hard to produce a wonderful winning point when they held the ball up very well and full-back Darren (Dazzler) Gibney popped up to slot over deep into injury time,
