You will need to get to Tailteann early next Sunday

Survival target for Meath on Sunday

Pairc Tailteann should be bursting at the seams on Sunday next as Meath footballers go in search of NFL Div 2 survival against Down.

The game will have a real championship edge about it - Meath lose and they will be relegated.

Meath will play Down in the seventh round of fixtures in the NFL Div 2 this Sunday, a game that was scheduled for this weekend already.

However, there was some confusion until now in relation to the two games that were postponed last weekend (Louth v Meath and Down v Tipperary) due to the adverse weather conditions on Sunday and Monday.

Croke Park confirmed the fixture schedule about an hour ago and the seventh round will go ahead across the board with Meath hosting Down in Navan next Sunday as listed  all at 3pm.

FIXTURES
Navan - Meath v Down
Ennis - Clare v Louth
Cavan - Cavan v Tipperary
Roscommon - Roscommon v Cork.

The two postponed games mentioned above Louth v Meath and Down v Tipperary are provisionally scheduled for Sunday 1st April, but may not have to be played - if Meath lose they will make the drop to Div 3 with Louth.

According to the GAA those games will be played on Easter weekend if they are required to determine the final positions for their respective League, CCCC will confirm remaining dates in due course.
