Burke accepts Heslin challenge

Last Friday Westmeath captain John Heslin issued a tongue-in-cheek challenge to the Meath players to decide the oft-postponed O'Byrne Cup final by snowball fight in Kinnegad the next day, with the winners lifting the early season silverware

It appears that yesterday (Saturday) Meath's tenacious corner-back Mickey Burke accepted that challenge and made the treacherous trek from his Longwood base to the Westmeath town of Kinnegad, but there was no sign of Heslin or his Westmeath cohorts.

So where too now for the O'Byrne Cup final - who knows at this stage, maybe next Christmas day?
