Countdown for Meath to Cavan test

The build up is on to Saturday's eagerly-awaited top of the table NFL Div 2 encounter between hosts Cavan and Meath with throw in set for 7pm.

Dara McVeety of Cavan and Cillian O’Sullivan of Meath were present at the snow-covered Cavan venue this afternoon in advance of the game.

This was always going to be a very closely-contested group with no team on full points after two rounds while Louth remain rooted to the foot of the table with two defeats.

Leaders Cavan and Meath (on scoring difference) meet on Saturday night  in what will be one of the most interesting contests across all four divisions this weekend.

They last met in Div 2 in 2016 when Cavan came from behind at Páirc Tailteann to win by seven points in what was a major success in their successful drive towards Div 1 while Meath won the 2015 clash by two points.

Cavan were relegated from Division 1 in 2017 while Meath are attempting to return to Div 1 for the first time since 2006.

Season ticket holders going to the NFL Div 2 game in Cavan on Saturday evening should go the gate 26 at the top entrance or gate 50 at the rear of the covered stand.
