Concession of three goals proves costly for Trim school

Despite staging a strong second-half comeback Scoil Mhuire, Trim lost out to Loreto Mullingar, 2-6 to 3-5,  in the Leinster Schools Senior C camogie final at Boardsmill this afternoon.

The game was originaly due to be played in Raharney but with the ground deemed unplayable there the final was switched to Boardsmill.

At no point did the Meath team lead with Loreto, Mullingar ahead 2-3 to 0-3 at the break with their goals scored by Eve Wallace and Sheila McGrath.

Scoil Mhuire, Trim had plenty of possesion in the second-half with Caroline Quinn who scored all her team's six points, having a penalty saved. In the closing stages Katie Mulvihill twice found the net for the spirited Trim school selection but they were unable to catch their opponents who added a crucial third goal in the second-half, again from McGrath.

Afterwards the Scoil Mhuire manager Belynda O'Gorman said her team's achievement in getting to the final was a sign of a growing strength in Meath camogie.
