Tough campaign facing Meath camogie team

Meath manager John Davis will have to plan his National Camogie League Div 1 campaign without players of the cailbre of Aoife Minogue, Jane Dolan, Sinead Hackett, Emma Coffey, Maire Keogh and Erin Leddy.

There are also doubts about the availability of Louise Donoghue and Aine Keogh for Sunday’s trip to take on Waterford as both players are ill and are rated doubtful for the clash against Waterford.

The 2018 competition was officially launched today and Camogie Association president Catherine Neary was on hand to highlight some of the top games and acknowledge continued support from Littlewoods Ireland.

“I am very excited about the 2018 season and in particular the commencement of the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie Leagues which begin early this season," she said.

"The Leagues kickstart the inter-county season and provide an opportunity for new and established players to come together at the start of what I have no doubt will be a very competitive season for their respective county teams.

"All of the counties involved will be striving to make the League Finals and players and management alike will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of the much-coveted League title and silverware.

“I wish to acknowledge the support, enthusiasm and innovation of League title sponsor Littlewoods Ireland who added greatly to the promotion of the League in their first year as sponsors in 2017 and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership as we strengthen our relationship over the coming season with Littlewoods Ireland, and as our game continues to grow across the country and beyond,” she concluded.
