Meath could face Longford in Páirc Tailteann next May

Meath footballers could have a home game in the Leinster SFC quarter-final against Longford on Sunday 27th May it emerged at tonight's meeting of Leinster Council.

At the moment the game is scheduled to be played at Pearse Park in Longford, but that is subject to the completion of re-development work at the Longford venue.

@OfficialLDGAA v @MeathGAA fixed for Pearse Park subject to redevelopment work being satisfactorily completed. Otherwise the game will be moved to Páirc Tailteann. Date tbc by CCC

In other Leinster SFC games for 2018 Wexford will host Laois following a coin toss while Carlow v LOuth and Offaly v Wicklow will be played as a double header at O'Moore Park.

If the game is to ge ahead in Pairc Tailteann it could be the last game at the venue before the ambitious re-development plans begin at the Navan stadium.
