Simonstown advance in Leinster Club SFC

Simonstown Gaels got their first victory in the Leinster Club SFC today at Wexford Park when they proved too strong for Starlights and advanced to the semi-final with a 1-12 to 0-8 victory.

Nathan O'Brien had Simonstown in front from a second minute point with Sean Tobin and Conor Sheridan (two) making it 0-4 to 0-0 after seven minutes.
Sean Tobin's goal boosted the Meath champions to a 1-5 to 0-4 interval lead.

Simonstown continued in the ascendancy after the resumption and were ahead by 1-8 to 0-5 at the three-quarter stage and they maintained the initiative until the end.
Padraig McKeever scored five second-half points.

The club organised a supporters bus to Wexford Park today and the happy travellers will have one stop on the way home in the Ferrycarrig Hotel and expected time of arrival back in Navan is between 7.30pm - 8.00pm.
