Reilly and Shiels make Baa Baa history

Meath's Marie Louise Reilly and Jackie Shiels have been named on the first ever Barbarians women’s team that will face Munster in Thomond Park this evening at 4.45pm.
Shiels and Reilly will joinh former Ireland star Fiona Coghlan, who will wear the captain’s armband for the historic Thomond Park clash, with Ailis Egan, Edel McMahon, Nora Stapleton and Tania Rosser named on the bench.
Shiels is no longer part of the Ireland set-up while Reilly has been a veteran of the irish team for several years and played in the World Cup in Dublin last summer.
Coghlan retired from international duty in 2014 with 85 caps under her belt, and like Reilly and Shiels she won a 2013 Grand Slam, had the honour of being part of the Ireland team that defeated the Black Ferns and secured best-ever fourth place finish at the 2014 World Cup.
Coached by England World Cup winner Giselle Mather, seven different nations are represented in the 23-strong panel, which has over 1,000 caps in total.
The BaaBaas clash with Munster will be a curtain raiser for the Barbarians men’s team’s encounter with Tonga (kick-off 7.30pm).
