Kiltale win soured by red card

Kiltale booked their place in the Leinster Club IHC semi-finals against Kilkenny side St Patrick's Ballyragget following today's 1-22 to 1-15 victory over Laois outfit The Harps at Pairc Tailteann.

The victory was soured slightly by the injury-time straight red card issued to Mark O'Sullivan following a face-off with a couple of Harps players that left O'Sullivan without his helmet. The Kiltale man is now likely to miss the semi-final.

Kiltale were the better team throughout this quarter-final contest, but they made hard work of it in the second-half as they allowed The Harps sneak in for a soft goal in the opening minute of the second period and close the gap to three points at one stage.

However once the additional pressure was applied Kiltale were able to find another level and pulled clear with Jack Regan top-scoring with 1-9, including the crucial goal that boosted his side to a 1-11 to 0-7 interval lead.
