John Davis in contention for top award

Meath manager John Davis is one of three nominees for the manager of the year award at the 14th annual Camogie All-Stars tonight at CityWest in Dublin.

This is the second time that Davis has been nominated as he was also in the running in 2012 after Meath won the Premier Junior title.

Cork manager Paudie Murray (senior champions and beaten by Meath in intermediate final) and Johnny Greville from Raharney who managed Westmeath to the junior title are the other contenders.

Nine Meath players have been included in the Camogie Association Soaring Stars Awards for the 14th annual All-Stars banquet at Citywest Hotel on Saturday 4th November.

This year the format has changed for the Intermediate and Premier Junior grades with awards being presented to the 15 most outstanding players across the Intermediate and Premier Junior Championships, drawn from 36 nominees across both grades for the first time.

All-Ireland Intermediate champions Meath receive nine nominations - Emily Mangan, Claire Coffey, Áine Keogh, Cheyenne O’Brien, Jane Dolan, Aoife Minogue, Megan Thynne, Kristina Troy and Amy Gaffney who was player of the match in the All-Ireland final replay.

The first Liberty Insurance Camogie All-Stars Tour will take this year with Madrid being announced as the destination for the inaugural trip from 29th November - 2nd December but Meath players are not eligible for that as it is confined to senior grade.
