Oldcastle's Jason Scully looks for a way through the Walterstown defence in today's game.

Oldcastle march on as Blacks falter again

Oldcastle maintained their unbeaten run in the IFC when they defeated Walterstown 2-11 to 0-14 at Pairc Tailteann this morning.

The north Meath side led most of the way against a Walterstown team who have struggled this year. They were ahead 0-7 to 0-6 at the interval and two second-half goals from CJ Healy and Jason Scully helped to put them in an unassailable position.

Scully also had a penalty kick rebound off the post in the second-half and also added four points to his team's account.

Waltestown went close to finding the net with Oldcastle netminder Packie Kevin saving well from Brian O'Connell and Brian McGrane. The Blacks had a good closing 10 minutes or so but were unable to get the goal they so badly needed.
