Meath hurlers do the double
There was double delight for Meath hurlers at Trim today with the minors and u-21s winning in their respective competitions.Â
The minors clocked up one of the biggest scorelines ever recorded at Trim when they defeated Sligo 14-24 to 0-6 in the All-Ireland MHC B quarter-finalÂ
Kildalkey's Nickey Potterton, Sean Martin from Na Fianna  and Dunboyne's Daire Gilmartin each helped themselves to a hat-trick of goals. Potterton scored his 3-2 in the opening half as he was substituted at the break with Martin replacing him in attack.Â
In the All-Ireland u-21 B HC Meath defeated Mayo by 2-19 to 0-11 to ensure David Forde's side now take on Kerry in the last four.Â
Ross Ryan and Mikey Cullen fired home the goals for the Meath side who also missed a host of opportunities.Â
