All-Ireland final ticket for Meath

Meath defeated Kilkenny in the All-Ireland JFC semi-final today at Nowlan Park by 2-21 to 2-8 while Kerry defeated Leitrim by 1-16 to 1-9 in the other semi-final. Meath will play Kerry in the decider on Saturday 5th August.

Today at Nowlan Park, Meath strolled to a 13-point victory against the hosts and were ahead by 0-8 to 0-5 at the interval following a tight opening 30 minutes.

It took Kilkenny 12 minutes to get off the mark in the second-half and by that time three points from Daire Rowe, two from Ben Brennan and one each for Stephen Coogan and Neil Shorthall moved Meath 10 points clear.

Kilkenny netted from Michael Malone, but Meath replied with points from Brennan and Coogan while Philip Roche tagged on a point for Kilkenny

Another Brennan point was followed by a goal for Coogan to make it 1-18 to 1-6 with eight minutes remaining and after Moylan converted a free for Kilkenny Rowe added Meath's second goal from close range to make it 2-18 to 1-7.
