Meath crowned Leinster IFC queens

Meath bounced back from a 0-2 to 0-6 interval deficit to stun Wexford 2-8 to 0-9 and claim the Ladies Leinster IFC crown with a stunning display at Dr Cullen Park Carlow yesterday.
Wexford deserved their four-point interval cushion and could have been further clear after hitting 10 wides in the opening period, but after the break Meath turned on the style with Aoibin Cleary, Megan Tynne and Niamh Gallogly excelling.
Thynne grabbed the all important second goal which gave Meath the lead midway through the half after Marion Farrelly's earlier goal had dragged them back into contention.
It was a brilliant second-half display from Eamonn Murray's charges as they hit 1-4 without reply in the closing 12 minutes to stun a Wexford side that had already beaten Meath twice in 2017 and who were regarded as one of the favourites for All-Ireland honours.

Watch the post-match celebrations and presentation of the player of the match award to Megan Thynne and the trophy to captain Niamh O'Sullivan.
