Meath lose to Galway in National Camogie League Div 1

Meath players are still looking for their first National Camogie League Div 1 victory afater today's defeat by hosts Galway at Pearse Stadium.

Galway won well by 3-15 to 1-5 with Ailish O’Reilly scoring 1-10.

Galway had the wind in the first half but didn’t score for 15 minutes and led by just three points at the break after Grace Coleman’s goal just before half time made it 0-9 to 1-3.

Galway brought on Ann Marie Starr and Niamh Kilkenny at half time and Starr was involved as Niamh Hannify goaled in the opening minute.

Jane Dolan and Sinead Hackett pointed for Meath but goals in last six minutes from Laura Loughnane and O’Reilly confirmed the result.

In the other game, Limerick finished with the last three points to keep their semi-final hopes on track, beating Offaly by 0-15 to 0-12. 

Meath and Offaly are now pointless and will play next week.

First round - Galway 1-22, Clare 0-7; Limerick 0-18, Meath 0-7.

Second round - Meath 1-9, Clare 2-14; Offaly 1-4, Galway 1-11.

Third round - Galway 3-15, Meath 1-5 ; Limerick 0-15, Offaly 0-12.
