Hurlers switched to Ballina from Castlebar

Meath hurlers were edged off the top of the NHL Div 2B on Sunday last without even pucking a sliotar and wil.l now travel to Ballina next Sunday to tackle Mayo with a game in hand on leaders Wicklow.

The scheduled game against Roscommon at Athleague was postponed due to an unplayable pitch, the re-fixture could be at Abbotstown midweek.

At the moment, Div 2B is shaping up for a fifth round showdown between Meath and Wicklow, a game that could be a dress rehearsal for the final as the top two teams will contest the decider with the winner gaining promotion to Div 2A for 2018.

First round - Derry 1-14 Mayo 1-13; Meath 4-21 Down 1-10; Wicklow 2-17 Roscommon 0-7.
Second round - Down 1-21, Roscommon 1-16; Meath 2-19, Derry 0-16; Wicklow 2-17, Mayo 1-17.
Third round - Derry 1-11, Wicklow 1-21; Mayo 0-12, Down 2-23.
