St Colmcille's announce new manager

St Colmcille's have appointed Des Lane to the managerial hot seat in place of Colm Nally who has taken up a role with the Louth senior footballers for 2017.

The new manager will be on board for the All-Ireland club IFC semi-final later this month and will be working in conjunction with Colm Nally who remains until the All-Ireland campaign concludes.

Des Lane was in charge of Rathkenny in 2016 and guided them to the A FL Div 2 title when they defeated Moynalvey in the final at the end of September.

After that game he annnounced his decision to the Rathkenny players after four years at the helm.

Next up for St Colmcille's is the All-Ireland Club IFC semi-final on Sunday 29th January against Pomeroy Plunkett's from Tyrone at the Athletic Grounds, Armagh.

Nally guided St Colmcille's to a memorable 2016 with victory in the Corn na Bóinne and IFC and the Leinster Club IFC where they negotiated Rosemount in the decider.

St Colmcille's commented on Twitter: Delighted to welcome Des Lane as Men's Senior Team manager for 2017. Best wishes to all the lads for the season.
