All too easy for Drumree/Blackhall Gaels

Liam Carey finished with a personal salvo of 2-5, while Josh Wall chipped in with eight points as the combined forces of Drumree and Blackhall Gaels got the better of Navan O'Mahonys by 5-21 to 2-6 in the u-21 B HC final in Ratoath this afternoon.

It was all over bar the shouting by the 24th minute as the winners opened up a 5-7 to 0-2 lead as Hugh Smith, John Morris and Robert McGuinness also found the net. That advantage was stretched to 5-10 to 0-4 by half-time and even though O'Mahonys pulled a goal back through Dermot Kenna in the opening minute of the second period they were always second fiddle as Drumree/Blackhall Gaels settled again and quickly restored their half-time advantage with a string of points.

O'Mahonys second goal from Paddy Dillon came with six minutes remaining, but by that stage the issue was long resolved as Drumree/Blackhall were champions.
