Hurling chairman TJ Reilly presented the O'Growney Cup to Mark O'Sullivan.

Kiltale angle gives them the edge!

Kiltale won the A HL Div 1 title and brought the prestigious O'Growney Cup home from Dunganny tonight with a comprehensive 1-20 to 0-11 victory against a hard-working Kildalkey side that lost touch in the second-half.

Kiltale didn't start with a full-strength side due to on-going concerns about a number of players, particularly Jack Regan, but they still made the running in the opening half and were ahead by 1-9 to 0-8 at the interval as Kildalkey tallied seven wides in the opening period.

Peter Durnin's goal was the key score and it arrived after 19 minutes, Durnin also sent over six points with two from Mark O'Sullivan and one from James Kelly while David Harmon (three), Sean Heavey and Patrick Conneely (two each) and Patrick Potterton registered for Kildalkey.

A tight first-half was followed by a one-sded second-half as Kiltale introduced Regan and the Ryan twins, Ross and Ronan - that gave them the capacity to move up a gear as they shaped up for Saturday's Leinster Club IHC assignment against Oylgate in Trim at 2pm.

Kiltale managed 11 second-half points to three for Kildalkey and that eight-point difference fairly reflected the gap between the two teams at this stage of the year as Kiltale ran out deserving winners.
