Bective earn final ticket plus all Saturday's GAA results

It all points to a tight JFC decider next Sunday between Bective and Dunsany after the Bective men booked their ticket at Athboy this evening with a 2-13 to 0-7 victory against Carnaross.

Last night Dunsany negotiated Skryne at Ashbourne (4-11 to 0-7) and the statistics from each game will show that tight-marking defences only conceded seven scores while at the other end the respective forwards managed 15 scores for the hour.

This evening at Athboy it was Bective who built on a fortunate 1-4 to 0-5 interval advantage - Marty Mulhall's goal arrived on the stroke of half-time - and in the end they were comfortable winners.

Carnaross didn't have a full hand to tackle this obstacle with John L Magee and Dermot McGee sidelined through injury and they lost Paddy Nugent in the opening half.

Carnaross were denied a goal by a smart Shane Breslin save at the end of the first-quarter, but more costly was three second-half wides in as many minutes when they trailed by a point.

Bective capitalised and when Sean Keating claimed a tap-in goal with 10 minutes remaining it was all over for Carnaross.
