Dunsany into JFC decider again

Dunsany made it back-to-back JFC final appearances when they negotiated local rivals Skryne in the semi-final tonight at Ashbourne with a convincing 4-11 to 0-7 victory.

Last year Dunsany lost the decider to Curraha and now they will have to wait until tomorrow evening to find out whether they will play Bective or Carnaross next Saturday at 3.30pm in the final at Pairc Tailteann.

Tonight they were a goal up in 40 seconds when Declan Smyth rifled to the net and it was 2-6 to 0-3 at the interval with Shane Brennan adding 1-2 and a point each from Pierre Fox, Mark Brennan, Shane Walshe and Kevin Keena following a fast-paces opening 30 minutes.

Skryne had two Niall Morley points and one from Jason Fox, but they made a good start to the second-half with a brace or Morley points as they upped the tempo and put pressure on their neigbours.

Pierre Fox added a third Dunsany goal in the 42nd minute and that effectively killed the game as a contest with Skryne just managing two mlore points - Morley and David McGoldrick for the remainder.

Walshe netted a fourth for Dunsany with Mark Brennan (three), Kevin Keena and Padraig Maguire added the points.

This was an impressive Dunsany performance with Smyth, Mark and Shane Brennan and Eoin Marsh leading by example.
