Motor rally continues until this evening

The sun broke through the clouds for the start of the popular ALMC motor rally that started from Trim this morning as close to 100 crews set off from the official start adjacent to rally HQ at the Castle Arch Hotel.

The event will continue until about 4.30pm this evening as the competitors negotiate the three stages on three occasions with a number of locals in action.

Some of the locals include Anthony Masterson and Tom Clinton (68) from Navan, John Reid and Enda Shiels (Navan and Clonee) who are in the historic section (H2), Kilmessan man Dominic Loughran (71), Trevor Mulligan and Sean Hyde (24) from Kells, Jack Newman and Donal Lennon (31) from Ashbourne and Mark Nangle and Brian Miller (28) from Summerhill.

Even if you missed the start you can still get to some of the stages.

Stages 1,4 (12.50pm), 7 (3.30pm) 

Lionsden - start near Cloneygrange, Ballivor and finish at Moneymore close to Longwood. 12

Stages 2, 5 (1.20pm), 8 (3.55pm) 

Rathcore - start near Gilbertstown (Longwood - Trim road) and finish at Clegarrow.

Stages 3, 6 (2pm), 9 (4.37pm) -

Galtrim - start near Kilmore crossroads and finish near Scurlochstown)
