Successful event for hurlers at Dunganny this evening

Young and not so young Meath hurling supporters flocked to Dunganny tonight to meet their heroes ahead of Saturday's eagerly-awaited Christy Ring Cup final re-fixture/replay at Croke Park, 5pm. Meath selector John Andrews was good enough to take some time to talk to the Meath Chronicle about the event and about Saturday's game.

It was the final training session for the players who took time out to sign autographs and pose for photographs at the Dunganny GAA Centre of Excellence for about an hour from 7.30pm.

The majority of hurling clubs were represented and there was also a number of representatives from fottball clubs in what turned out to be a very successful event that saw the legendary Sean Boylan present also.

Earlier today Sean and Dublin's Paddy Cullen had atteneded an event in Croke Park to mark the 25th anniversary of the famous four-game Meath v Dublin Leinster SFC tie in 1991.

Sean said he was hoping for a great weekend for Meath GAA teams at Croke Park.

The Meath hurlers have been preparing for this re-fixture and once the young players departed they were able to finalise their preparations for a second visit to Croke Park this month.
