Eamonn Barry opposed to appointments at Co Board meeting

Meath Coaching Officer Eamonn Barry proposed an amendment to each of the proposals to ratify the appointments of u-14 and u-16 managers of the Meath Development squads at tonight's Co Board meeting in Carlanstown.

The Coaching Officer had attempted to hand out a letter to delegates as they arrived at the meeting, but there was a swift intervention by the Co Board chairman who confiscated some of the documentation and informed Barry that he could not hand out any letters.

The matter related to the appointment of managers for the two under-age squads with Barry suggesting that the proposed appointments were not in order as proper procedure had not been followed and the process was contrary to the rules and regulations.

However, there was no support for Barry and when another person at the meeting attempted to speak, he was asked to identify himself and was then told he wasn't entitled to address the meeting as he wasn't a delegate.

 The following appointments were ratified.

Anthony Monaghan (Castletown), Kit Henry (Cortown) and Vinny Ryan (Ballinlough) were ratified as the management team for the under-14 Meath Development panel.

Ronan Kearns (St Patrick's) was ratified as the manager of the under-16 Meath Development panel with Shane McAnarney (Clann na nGael), Martin Blake (St Brigid's), Daithi Whyte (St Patrick's), Paul Clarke (Simonstown), Joe Sheridan (Seneschalstown) and Martin O'Connell (Walterstown) as selectors.
