Meath hurlers set for trip to Arklow

Meath hurlers will make the journey to Arklow on Sunday for a crucial NHL Div 2B game against Wicklow with Longwood's Damien Healy back in the starting 15 after he featured for IT Carlow in the Walsh Cup.

Tom Clarke (Kilmacud Crokes) and Ronan Sherlock (Silvermines) are also included after some good displays in the Walsh Cup last month. Meath played Carlow (lost 1-13 to 0-19), Wexford (2-7 to 3-18) and IT Carlow (2-16 to 1-12) in the Walsh Cup.

That victory in the third round against the DJ Carey-managed IT Carlow was achieved with 14 men after Sean Heavey was dismissed in the second-half.

Wicklow competed in the Kehoe Cup where they lost to Maynooth University and then defeated Louth and Fingal.

Meath will be expecting to win this crucial first round tie, but will be wary as on their last visit to Arklow they were beaten in 2014 and last year, Wicklow played in the NHL Div 2A.
