Bray named player of the year

Navan O'Mahonys stalwart and Meath legend Stephen Bray has been named Meath GAA Footballer of the Year for 2015.

Bray retired from the Meath senior football team following the All-Ireland SFC loss to Tyrone in July, but he will continue to play with his club for who he was in sparkling form throughout the year guiding them to the Keegan Cup for the second successive year.

Hurler of the Year was a relatively simple choice with Kiltale’s Jack Regan becoming the first player to win the gong two years in a row since Kilmessan's Nickey Horan in the 1990s.

Na Fianna’s Peter Slevin caps a fine week as he adds the Young Hurler of the Year prize to the MHC crown he won last Sunday.

Given their extended run in the Leinster Club JFC as well as topping the A FL Div 4 table and winning the Meath JFC and Tailteann Cup it is no surprise that Curraha have been named Club of the Year, while the magnificent facilities at Trim have been rewarded with the Grounds of the Year accolade.

Kildalkey’s Nick Fitzgerald has been named Referee of the Year while the Most Improved Referee is Liam Reddy from Duleek/Bellewstown.

Seneschalstown will also received a new Public Relations Club Award to follow Brian Kelly’s success when winning the Meath Chronicle/Cusack Hotel group PRO of the Year for 2014
