14 Manage 13 as Curraha advance in Leinster

Curraha advanced in the Leinster Club JFC with a 0-13 to 1-9 victory over Offaly champions Cappincur at O'Connor Park, Tullamore today despite finishing with 14 men after Phelim Dowling picked up a second yellow card soon after the resumption.

Curraha were ahead by 0-9 to 1-2 at the interval, but they really had to batten down the hatches to survive the determined Cappincur revival bid as the Offaly men closed the gap to the minimum on two occasions and had a difficult free in added time to tie the scores.

Curraha started without suspended Conor Joyce who had been red-carded in the JFC final against Dunsany and the focus will now turn to the next assignement with a real determination to keep 15 men on the pitch.

It was a fine display by Curraha who had up to 10 players involved in a u-21 game last Wednesday night and they will be back on u-21 duty again this Wednesday night.

NEXT UP
Next up for Curraha is the semi-final on Sunday 22nd November against either Grange from Carlow or Barrowhouse from Laois.

Grange will host Barrowhouse in the quarter-final at Dr Cullen Park in Carlow tomorrow at 2pm.
