Dunshaughlin finish with some silverware

Dunshaughlin made amends for their SFC exit at the hands of Dunboyne when they captured the A FL Div 1 title in fine style this evening with a 4-9 to 0-11 victory over the Dunboyne men at Pairc Tailteann.

For Dunshaughlin manager Kit Henry it was a satisfying way to end the campaign as his side brought the Mooney Cup back to Dunshaughlin and the trophy will be on display tonight at the launch of the clubs's new book - Black and Amber (a history of the GAA in the parish).

It didn't look good for Dunshaughlin in the early stages in this final when they trailed by 0-1 to 0-3, but goals from Niall Murphy and Fergus Toolan helped them to a 2-6 to 0-7 interval lead.

Dunboyne got the gap down to four (0-10 to 2-8) in the second-half and were denied goals by Alastar Doyle's block and then the crossbar, but a late surge that saw Danny Quinn and Mark Devaney find the net sealed the verdict for Dunshaughlin.

Popular Dunshaughlin official Mairead Delaney presented the cup.
