Vital wins for seneschalstown and na fianna

Seneschalstown boosted their SFC survival prospects with a first win of the campaign following their 1-11 to 1-8 victory over St Patrick’s at Duleek, while in Pairc Tailteann Na Fianna took a giant leap towards the knockout stages with a convincing 2-10 to 0-9 victory over Walterstown.
Tean Cummins fortunate goal gave Senescfhalstown a 1-4 to 0-6 interval lead over St Patrick’s and when they kicked five of the first six points after the break david Hosie’s side looked set for a comfortable win.
However St Pat’s set up a tense finale with a brilliant Shane Landy goal to close the deficit to two points, 1-9 to 1-7. The Stamullen side didn’t score again until the 60th minute as Seneschalstown climbed off the foot of the table with Joe Sheridan and Bryan Clarke firting over the insurance points late on.
In the other game on Saturday night Na Fianna’s bright first-half performance yielded a brace of goals as they took a 2-7 to 0-3 interval lead. Walterstown did improve after the break winning the second-half 0-6 to 0-3, but they had left themselves with too much to do and unless they score a surprise win over Gaeil Colmcille in round five they look set for another relegation play-off.
