Focus on ladies gaa fixtures

It’s a top of the table clash in the Meath Ladies SFC this Tuesday evening when Seneschalstown and St Ultan's meet in Bective.St Ultan's may go in to this one as slight favourites – they are currently unbeaten, top of the table and have an airtight defence which has so far conceded just three goals in three games while scoring 5-46.

Seneschalstown however have been gathering pace and have a tremendous blend of youth and experience that makes this tie all the more exciting.

Boardsmill will face Navan O’Mahonys in Sean Newman Park. The side, captained by Aideen Guy, now have two wins in the Championship – a goal by Ciara Ashe gave them what could be a crucial win over Oldcastle in the second round.

They have been defeated by Simonstown though and they know they will have to be at their best to overcome a hungry O’Mahonys side.

It has been a disappointing campaign thus far for Na Fianna who have yet to get a win in the Championship. In Shauna Ennis, Maebh Downey, Katie Queeney among others, they have real experience that will test Oldcastle all the way.

Oldcastle are pushing on in this Championship and will be buoyed by their win over Simonstown last time out.

Intermediate Championship
St. Michael's have won the last three of their Championship games and with home advantage on their side they will look to do the same against Blackhall Gaels this Monday.

With Marion Farrelly in super form, the Carlanstown/Kilbeg side are hungry for victory.

They face Blackhall Gaels who have not hit the form they found in round one and will be eager to get back on track with another win.

After their win against Donaghmore-Ashbourne last week, Moynalvey are back in business. They take on Royal Gaels this Tuesday where home advantage may prove key.

Royal Gaels have been beaten twice on the last two outings (Dee Rangers and St. Michael's) and will be determined to get back to winning ways.

In Niamh O’Sullivan, Laura Murray, Maeve Scanlon among others they have plenty of experience and skill and will be confident of securing all three points on Tuesday.

Donaghmore Ashbourne will be wondering if anything else can go wrong for them as their injury list has increased.

They are working hard and with Aoibhín Cleary, Abbie Timmons and Eva McNeilis all in top form, they could spring a surprise over visitors Ratoath who were beaten by Summerhill last time out.

However the game of the round would appear to be Dee Rangers v Summerhill.

Dee Rangers have been impressive all season and currently top the table. They have scored an incredible 10-52 in their four Championship ties with Kelly Farrelly leading the charge with 3-15 of that total.

However, they face a Summerhill side who never know when they are beaten. Coming from behind on the last two outings and getting the win on both occasions has given this Summerhill side hope of reaching their third Intermediate final in as many years.

They will know however that they will have to be at their very best, but with Niamh Crowe the current top scorer in the Championship (3-23) in their side and a tremendous defence led by Andrea Pearle and Julianne Scanlon and plenty of experience in Jenny Rispin and Ciara Daly, they have a good chance.

Junior A Championship
The Junior A Championship is definitely hotting up! First off on Monday evening, St. Pats/Duleek-Bellewstown will be eager to get back to winning ways when they take on Dunboyne in Bellewstown.

Both sides recorded losses in the previous round and both will be eager to get a win to get their Championship hopes back on track.

St. Pats/Duleek-Bellewstown were delivered a heavy defeat by Clann na nGael in Round Four and will want to use home advantage to their benefit. With Alex Goodman in scoring form they could very well get all three points on Monday evening.

Dunboyne are on the back of two losses, losing by two points to Dunsany in round three and by a point last week against St Colmcille's.

However, this is a talented youthful Dunboyne side and with players the class of Shelly Melia and Vikki Wall in their team, they could be bringing all three points back to Dunboyne with them on Monday.

It has been a dream Championship for St Colmcille's so far with their single point win over Dunboyne last week possibly the highlight.

The Graham Reilly-trained side are in scoring form and have the home support which could see them with their fifth win of the Championship on Monday evening.

They face Dunsany who are rested after their bye last week and boosted by their win over Dunboyne the previous week.

With players the calibre of Kelly Gorman, Megan Thynne and Colette O’Connell, all of whom are in scoring form, they have the patience and experience to come away with the spoils heading into the holiday break.

Moylagh take on Clann na nGael in the final group game on Tuesday evening.

The home side have had a mixed season, only getting their first win of the Championship last time out against Skryne.

Likewise, Clann na nGael got their first win of the Championship in the last round against St. Pats/Duleek-Bellewstown and showed their scoring prowess, finishing with 6-18 to their name, with dual star Aoife Minogue registering 2-07 on the night.

Both sides will be confident of coming away with a win, so both sides defence will be crucial here.

Junior B Championship
In the Junior B Championship, Walterstown host Drumbaragh on Wednesday evening.

Drumbaragh have learnt a lot in this Championship, despite shipping some heavy defeats and will be eager to continue to build.

Walterstown have struggled this season and not having a game in two weeks probably hasn’t helped matters.

On Thursday, Na Fianna will take on Boardsmill in Enfield. These are second teams from both clubs, showing the strength and depth of players in both camps.

Unfortunately Na Fianna’s last game was abandoned due to a serious injury, thankfully the player is on the mend and Na Fianna will be eager to get back to business once more.

In the final game, Oldcastle will host Trim who have been building and have youth and determination on their side. Oldcastle’s side registered a big win over Drumbaragh last time out so will be confident of another win on Thursday evening.
