Disappointment at the final whistle today.

Minor footballers exit leinster title race

There was no joy for Meath in the Leinster MFC semi-final against hosts Longford at Pearse Park this afternoon as they lost out by four points (0-8 to 1-9) after producing a below-par performance.

Meath started well with three points in the first eight minutes, but they didn't score again until 10 minutes into the second-half.

Meath trailed by 0-3 to 1-3 at the interval and fell further behind after the resumption before producing a late flourish to level at 0-8 to 1-5 with five minutes left.

However, they were unable to build on that and Longford finished with a flourish of four unanswered points for a desrved victory.
