Meath minor hurlers win

Meath recorded a 5-11 to 1-11 Leinster MHC first roubd victory over Kildare at Trim this afternoon where a hat-trick of goals from corner forward Peter Slevin helped Meath to a 3-4 to 1-7 lead at half time writes Colm McLoughlin.

Kildare's only goal in the first half was an own goal from Meath's Noel O'Sullivan just before the break, he was unlucky when the sliotar deflected off him and into the net.

Meath dominated the second half with Slevin notching his fourth goal with nine minutes remaining for a comfortable win.

Full back Peter Farrell rounded off the scoring getting Meath's fifth goal when his free from his own 45-metre line dropped under the Kildare crossbar.
