Mick O'Dowd may have to watch next Saturday's NFL div 2 game against Down from the stands.

Odowd in hot water over ref comments

Meath manager Mick O'Dowd has been summoned to Croke Park by the Competitions Central Controls Committee (CCCC) to explain critical comments he made about Wicklow referee Anthony Nolan following Sunday's 0-14 to 2-10 loss to Roscommon in Dr Hyde Park.

O'Dowd will appear before the committee to explain what he described as unacceptable refereeing.

O'Dowd was unhappy with several aspects of Nolan's performance following Sunday's game.

“I’m raging with some of the decisions given against us today. I haven’t said anything in my three years managing the team, but at times I really question some of the refereeing,' the manager told the Meath Chronicle.
