Title for loreto navan girls

The girls from St Michael's, Loreto, Navan made it two All-Ireland titles in two years when they captured the B football title with a slick performance against Scoil Bhride, Tuam in the decider today at Longford where they won impressively by 5-13 to 2-11 after trailing by 1-4 to 1-6 at the interval.

Kelsey Nesbit found the net in the opening half for the Navan girls who started the second-half at a super-charged pace with a quick Stacey Grimes point before a two-goal salvo.

Lauryn Grier claimed the first of those two goals and a Grimes penalty followed that was finished at the third attempt after she hit the woodwork from the initial shot and the rebound before eventually finishing to the net.

The Galway girls were hanging on at that stage, but managed points to trail by 1-8 to 3-5 at the three-quarter stage.

Two more goals in the closing stages from Tara Berigan and Mollie Byrne sealed a dramatic victory for the Navan girls and coach Michelle Delaney who told the Meath Chronicle that the aim now is to make an impact in the A grade for 2015 / 2016.
