Snow joke at ashbourne
The blizzard-like conditions that swept across the Royal County today from soon after noon had a serious impact on the scheduled 1pm game at Ashbourne in the Ladies NFL Div 2 bewteen Meath and Westmeath.
Unfortunately the game had to be postponed due to the heavy snow that fell in the space of about 30 minutes as Meath PRO Aisling Clery explained (see video clip).
This was a fourth round tie in the Ladies NFL Div 2 and the Meath girls would have approached the game with some confidence after last week's win against Down.
The game will now be re-scheduled and while everyone at the venue was disappointed at the postponement, there was no criticism about the referee's decision as the conditions were terrible.
