Late harnan goal secures another trophy for kiltale

There was further reason for Kiltale to celebrate when they defeated Kilskyre, 4-4 to 1-10, in the A HL Div 2 final at Pairc Tailteann this evening with Willie Harnan netting a late, dramatic goal.

Already Jubilee Cup and A HL Div 1 champions Kiltale added another trophy to their haul with this win that was secured by a goal from the alert Harnan deep into injury time.

Paddy Kelly's side only started playing with any real conviction after the interval. They went into the break 0-1 to 0-7 behind with Kilskyre spurning a series of good scoring opportunities in that opening half.

The introduction of twins Ronan and Ross Ryan made a big differance to Kiltale's attacking capabilities and both these players grabbed goals in the second-half to kick-start their revival.

Yet Kilskyre looked like they were going to win when with four minutes of normal time to go Ronan McGuinness  fired to the net to leave his team 1-9 to 2-4 in front.

Then TJ Lynch found the net for Kitale to edge them ahead before Michael Geraghty powered forward to snatch an equalising point for Pat Clancy's Kilskyre.

With extra-time looming Harnan pounced on a loose ball and fired low to the net for a dramatic winner.
