No joy at omoore park for cortown

Cotown’s first venture into the Leinster Club JFC ended in disappointment at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise today when they lost out narrowly (2-18 to 1-12) against Laois champions Courtwood following a competitive encounter.

The Cortown players will be disappointed, especially after the first-half, as they
looked off-the-pace and really only got into the game in the second-half when trailing by 0-6 to 1-7 at the interval.

Ryan O'Rourke converted a second-half penalty (see video) but it wasn't enough and Courtwood held on.

“We were a little bit lax in the first-half and they got a run on us, we had chances and didn’t take them, but we can’t complain, we had chances in the county final and the replay and we had the luck in those games,' said manager Conn Cleary.
