No joy at hearing this week for Trim manager John Andrews

No joy for higgins but dunne cleared to play

There was no joy for Trim hurlers with their appeal this week against the red card that was issued to Dimmy Higgins in the SHC semi-final against Dunboyne at Pairc Tailteann two weeks ago.

'I don't know waht the red card was for' commented Trim manager John Andrews after the game, but an appeal was heard this week and it was unsuccessful so Trim will have to plan without Higgins.

However, for next week's JFC final replay, both Darragh O'Halloran (Cortown) and Mickey Dunne (Dunboyne) will be available.

In the drawn final O'Halloran was sent-off for two yellow cards and club officials were concerned that he might miss the replay as he had been the recipient of two yellow cards in a game against St Brigid's also.

However, he is clear to start in the replay.

Mickey Dunne has his red card (he was red-carded with about four minutes remaining) rescinded and he will also be celar to play next weekend in the curtainraiser to the senior decider.
