Summerhill set up showdown with seneschalstown

Summerhill will face Seneschalstown in a SFC preliminary quarter-final clash after they comfortably defeated Moynalvey 1-17 to 0-12 at Dunsany this evening.

This was a game Declan McCabe's side needed to win and that did just that producing some excellent football on the way to victory.

Moynalvey had Padraig Harnan sent off early in the second-half when he picked up a second yellow card.

Despite the defeat Moynalvey escaped a releagation play-off due to results elsewhere with Rathkenny, from their group, left to scrap for survival in the top grade.

Moynalvey created plenty of problems for their near neighbours in the opening stages but once Brian Ennis fired the ball low to the net after 20 minutes it always looked like Summerhill would prevail.

Ennis went on to notch up 1-8 for his team in a fine performance with David Larkin, Paul Rispin and Barry Dardis helping themselves to two points apiece.
