Another trophy for drumbaragh

Drumbaragh took the honours this evening in the curtainraiser at Pairc Tailteann when they won the A FL Div 3 decider with a solid performance against St Ultan's for a narrow 0-12 to 0-10 victory.

Drumbaragh always looked the more likely team to win in the this clash of the intermediate sides and the winners were ahead by 0-8 to 0-5 at the interval.

St Ultan's battled with great heart in the second-half and twice closed the gap to only two points, but they were unable to overhaul the Drumbaragh men who added another piece of silverware under the guidance of Finian Murtagh who was full of praise for his players.

St Ultan's manager Tommy Dowd had to recover quickly from the disappointment as his company (Tommy Dowd Oil) sponsors the A FL Div 3 and he had to make his way to the presentation podium for the formalities.

Pat Cummins from the Dunsany club was also on hand for the presentation of the Cummins Cup - in memory of his late father Jack.

Drumbaragh will play St Colmcille's in the final round of the IFC next week - St Ultan's will play Carnaross. Both teams will be attempting to avoid the relegation play-offs.
