Seamus Kenny announces retirement

Seamus Kenny hasannounced his retirement from inter-county football this week. The Simonstown Gaels man first featured for Meath in 2000 and has NFL, Leinster SFC and u-21 medals to his credit.

His first game was against Westmeath in the 2001 Leinster SFC and he captained Meath in 2011 and 2012.

He is a Meath GAA Games development manager and in recent years has had to contend with various injuries. This year he made nine appearances for Meath, six as a substitute.

He will be in action for his club in the SFC next weekend.
