Team announcement delayed to Saturday

Meath supporters travelling to Croke Park on Saturday will be able to have a debate about who will be on the team for the All-Ireland SFC qualifier against Armagh it has emerged.

The Meath Chronicle has been advised that the team will not be announced until shortly before the scheduled throw-in at 5pm.

It is not clear, and this is not confirmed, whether this delay is due to a late injury crisis or not.

Meath teams for previous games this year have always been available on the Friday morning, but for this crucial tie, supporters will have to wait a little bit longer to find out who is on the starting 15.

However, Meath PRO Martin O’Halloran is urging Royal County supporters to travel in huge numbers to Croke Park next Saturday for the All-Ireland SFC qualifier clash with Armagh.

“ Meath supporters have been brilliant this year and the team needs them more than ever now,” O’Halloran told the Meath Chronicle.
“We are hopeful that at least 10,000 Meath fans will make the trip to Croke Park and bring their flags and colours,' he added.

Tickets, €25 (upper decks and terracing will not be open), are available from Páirc Táilteann between office hours up to 4.0pm on Friday 1st August and they can also be purchased from local Supervalu and Centra stores as well as from Jack Kiernan’s Shop, Navan.
