Trim march on

Two goals each from Neil Heffernan and Damien McGee as well as a debut goal for Jamie Hackett and a sublime performance from James Toher inspired Trim to a comfortable 5-16 to 1-9 SHC win over Rathmolyon at Kildalkey last night.

It was all plain sailing for John Andrews' side as they trailed at the end of the first quarter after Brian Carley failed to deal with Jack Fagan's shot which boosted Rathmolyon to a 1-1 to 0-3 lead.

However two McGee goals helped Trim to a 2-10 to 1-2 interval lead and while Rathmolyon did put up a brave fight in the third quarter it was Trim who pulled further clear with Heffernan (two) and Hackett bagging goals for the winners who also welcomed back Alan Douglas and Joey Toole to their panel.

Trim now sit top of their group with three wins on the trot and on this form they look like worthy contenders for Jubilee Cup glory.
