Menton and Harrington out of Carlow clash

Meath manager Mick O’Dowd has been dealt a double blow with the news that Bryan Menton and Eoghan Harrington will miss the Leinster SFC quarter-final clash with Carlow on Sunday 15th June.
Menton suffered a dislocated thumb in Donaghmore/Ashbourne’s SFC win over Summerhill in April and despite playing a few games since then the injury hasn’t settled and he required minor surgery last week to correct the problem.
Harrington has a hairline fracture of the jaw and while the injury is not too serious he will need at least 10 days rest, therefore ruling him out of contention for the trip to Dr Cullen Park.
Eamon Wallace, Davy Dalton and Cillian O’Sullivan have been ruled out for the entire campaign.
“Eoghan Harrington will miss the Carlow game with a slight hairline fracture to his jaw which will require more rest and Bryan Menton had a minor operation to sort out a dislocated thumb,” O’Dowd told the Meath Chronicle.
“Eamon Wallace, David Dalton and Cillian O’Sullivan are gone for the summer, they are on rehab programmes at the moment and are working hard. Other than those players we feel that everyone should be available and ready to go for the Carlow game.”
