O'Halloran calls for county to get behind hurlers

Co Board PRO Martin O'Halloran has called on Meath GAA supporters to get behind the hurling team as they seek to defeat Kildare in the Christy Ring Cup semi-final on Saturday.

The Co Board and hurlers have found themselves at loggerheads in recent times over non-payment of expenses but O'Halloran has called for a unified effort on Saturday.

'The hurlers have worked very hard in preparing for the Ring Cup and they deserve our support, ' he said.

'I would hope that a big crowd will turn up at Trim on Saturday and give their full backing to the team.

'They are just one game away from Croke Park and that is always something to look forward to for any player.'

The throw-in at Trim is 2.30.
