Dismal display by Meath in Arklow
Meath’s NHL Div 2B title aspirations were left in tatters at Arklow on today after a 0-8 to 1-15 reversal against a determined Arklow side that was relegated from 2A last year. Meath had already recorded a 2-17 to 0-5 Kehoe Cup victory against 13-man Wicklow last month at Trim.

Meath trailed by 0-4 to 1-7 at the interval after playing against a strong wind - it didn’t look too bad at that stage.

Wicklow scored four points in 12 second-half minutes against the elements, Meath managed one and that set the pattern for the remainder.

Wicklow scorers - C Moorehouse 0-2, A O’Brien 0-4, M Lee 0-6, W O’Gorman 1-1, R Keddy 0-1, D Staunton 0-1.

Meath scorers - James Toher 0-3, Peter Durnin 0-3, Darren Reilly 0-1, Adam Gannon 0-1.

RESULTS

NHL DIV 2B

First round - Wicklow 1-15, Meath 0-8; Mayo 2-13, Fingal 3-9; Down 2-20, Armagh 1-7.

FIXTURES
